The Fox Diary Part Two

Here are a couple of tracks that will be included in an upcoming release. I am still hard at work finishing up the recording and writing process. I have enough material for two releases, one being sort of rocked out and the other being more "ambient". I hope that these two songs tide you over for a while as I toil away in the bat cave.
"Ojinaga" and "Quilts" are the two tracks that I have included here for download. The live rehearsal space versions were posted previously. Both tracks are a part of my live set now and I really wanted to give them the proper recorded representation for people to enjoy. "Ojinaga" is very Eno/Fripp and "Quilts" is very much in the vein of White Rainbow. I hope that you enjoy!

Take care and more soon!

Negative Creepy Crawl

Nirvana was the band that started it all for me. So in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Bleach, I covered two songs from the release as a celebration. For legal purposes, this is all for free and for fun and I am in no way affiliated with Sub Pop, signed to Sub Pop or even remotely on their radar.

A Rare vocal appearance by me to boot.

Updates

On Saturday I played what will probably be the last of my live shows for 2009. I am working on a ton of stuff that will hopefully get released here before December. I recently was informed that some of my music was purchased for use at a Hospice facility. I found that to be deeply profound and I am hoping that if anything I create helps with the easing of anyone's pain, I have done exactly what I set out to do with this project. Take care and I will be posting some new tunes soon.

Apocalypse 2600

I thought I would give a bit of an update on what is going on in the Night Friends world.

If you are in Austin I will be playing the following dates. It is my goal to start playing a lot more shows in and out of Austin in the upcoming weeks.

Aug 13 2009 8:00P
Creekside Lounge
Aug 28 2009 8:00P
Cherrywood Coffee

This year will see me putting together several releases. Though I recently released a new full length, inspiration has arrived and I'm already hard at work on more releases. There will be a serious shift in sound as these releases continue. I would very much like to go into a more space/psych/kraut vibe that I have been toying with more and more with every release. Sometimes it just takes a while for you to find your own voice. The second full length that I'm working on is going to be inspired by the various comic books that I have loved over the years. Yes, a celebration of all things geek and I am very much a big geek. In other release news, I also plan on doing a once a month virtual single release of new songs, b-sides, covers and live tracks. I am also working on a split cassette release with A Tiny Fox. As soon as the packaging and release details for the A Tiny Fox split, I will post them here on how you may find that collaboration.

New Record!

Yay, the new record is finished! I'm awaiting approval for the album cover and then it will all be posted once the layout and album art are finished. More than likely I will probably just post the record up for free for a while until I get the cash to put the record up on CD Baby for digital distribution and physical copies.

See you soon!
